Information for people taking part in our research

Summary of the Study

Having a painful Achilles tendon is fairly common. Recent research suggests how treatment is delivered may be influential on the success of treatment.  Based on previous work, we think expectations, beliefs and who delivers the treatment may be important. Exploring these factors has yet to be investigated, and in order to do so we have designed this study to help us develop our understanding. We are asking people who are currently undergoing treatment for a painful Achilles tendon to complete the following survey 3 times over a 3 month period. Each survey takes around 15 minutes to complete and you will be contacted by email and text message to remind you to take the follow up surveys. All this information is kept confidential and will not be shared with your physiotherapist. This is all voluntary and although you will not receive any direct benefits from taking part, we hope the information gathered will benefit those with painful Achilles tendons in the future.
